Canton Explosion Kills One

CANTON, S.D.–Crews responded to an explosion in Canton early today (Monday).
The Canton Police Department shared on its Facebook page that around 2:40 a.m., it had set up a perimeter at 3rd Street and Pleasant Avenue and would be in the area until further notice.
Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Harold Timmerman has since confirmed one person died in the explosion, which could be heard in several nearby towns.
