Funeral Friday for Minnesota Pastor and Son Killed In South Dakota Crash

MOUNDS VIEW, Minn.–Funeral services are scheduled Friday for a Minnesota pastor and his three-year-old son killed in a South Dakota crash earlier this month.

Thirty-one-year-old Stephen Clayton of Monticello and his son, David, died October 12th when a wheel detached from a trailer on Interstate 90 near Kimball, crossed the median and struck their minivan.

Clayton’s pregnant wife suffered life-threatening injuries, while the couple’s 11-month-old son was treated for minor injuries.

Clayton had served as pastor of Becker Evangelical Free Church since 2024.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Friday, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral.
