Highway 12 High Speed Chase Ends at Bristol

ABERDEEN, S.D. (KWAT)–An Indiana man was arrested following a high speed chase through Brown and Day counties Monday.

Brown County Sheriff Dave Lunzman tells KWAT News the pursuit began when a vehicle sped away from an attempted traffic stop on U.S. Highway 12 near Bath.

The chase proceeded east into Day County where stop sticks were used.

The suspect vehicle finally came to a stop in Bristol. That’s when officers with the South Dakota Highway Patrol, and Aberdeen SWAT team assisted by using less than lethal irritants to convince the driver to surrender.

The suspect is indentified as Robert Fawley. He’s facing numerous charges, and was also wanted on an outstanding warrant in Indiana.
